MORGANTOWN -- A group of informed citizens is providing valuable "green" knowledge to its neighbors in an effort to make Morgantown a more sustainable city.
Thursday was the first of the Green Nights at the Morgantown Public Library.
The Morgantown Green Team presented January's topic: Sustainable Building.
Architects and professors of green design offered tips and advice on how to make your home or new building more cost effective and environmentally friendly.
"We're trying to localize it," said Professor Chris Haddox, who teaches energy efficiency and green building classes at West Virginia University's Division of Design and Merchandising. "We're trying to let people know, hey, there are people in town, there are resources right here in the library, I didn't know that book was here, I been wondering about this stuff, I saw it on TV, and hey, I can do this. Trying to hook people up, trying to network so people will come around."
Other topics in the monthly series include recycling, transportation, and local food production. Click here for more information about the Green Team.
