PHILIPPI -- Barbour County sheriff's deputies were involved in a car chase that ended in Upshur County early Monday morning.

It started at about 11 p.m. Sunday, when deputies tried to arrest Jonathon Swiger in the Belington area.

Swiger, 21, was out on bond on a burglary charge.

One of the conditions of his bond was to go to rehabilitation, but he left rehab and was on the run, deputies said.

Swiger and girlfriend, Brittany Bradley, drove off when they arrived at his house, according to deputies.

They chased the couple into Upshur County, where the state police joined the chase.

Swiger now faces charges of fleeing from an officer in a vehicle and driving revoked for under 21 measurable alcohol.

Bradley is charged with conspiracy.

They were both taken to the Tygart Valley Regional Jail.
