KINGWOOD -- Cpl. Craig DeBerry of the Kingwood detachment of the West Virginia State Police arrested a man for allegedly making two false reports.

DeBerry charged Matthew Hollier, 20, of Kingwood, with destruction of property, according to Preston County Prosecuting Attorney Mel Snyder.

Hollier lived in a house that caught fire in the city's West Point community on Nov. 2, 2009, Snyder said.

He reported it as an arson, prosecutors said in a previous release, and also reported being robbed along Route 7 on Oct. 25, 2009.

Hollier turned himself in Tuesday morning, was arraigned in magistrate court, and posted bond, Snyder reported, and will have a preliminary hearing in 2 to 3 weeks.
