CLARKSBURG -- Two detectives from the Clarksburg Police Department are traveling to California to question two Harrison County residents, as part of a murder investigation.
Christopher Robey, 26, of Stonewood and Megan Titus, 21, of Salem, were arrested on outstanding misdemeanor warrants, Friday night in San Diego.
Clarksburg police are investigating the Aug. 15 murder of Clarence Leeson, an elderly man who lived in the Glenwood Hill area of the city.
Leeson's death was not initially ruled a homicide.
It was not until the medical examiner examined the body and the police further investigated that it was ruled a murder, according to the Harrison County Prosecutor's Office.
Officials did not say how Leeson was killed.
Prosecutors did say they expected felony murder warrants to be issued in the case, because the murder was committed in the commission of a robbery.
Prosecutors also said that drugs may have been the motivation for the robbery.
In addition to Robey and Titus, police are looking for two other male suspects in the case, prosecutors said.
One of the suspects may be in the San Diego area, while the other one is believed to be in Harrison County, authorities said.
Both suspects are said to be in their early 20s.
Police were led to the suspects when people not involved in the crime came forward, prosecutors said.
Some of the suspects had a prior interactions with Leeson, according to authorities.
They were not related to Leeson, they said.
There is no word yet if Robey and Titus will be charged with murder or when they will be brought back to Harrison County.
They are in jail in California, where Clarksburg Police are interviewing them.
Clarksburg investigators are also said to be working to get search warrants to find further evidence in the case.
Leeson was an upstanding citizen, Harrison County Prosecutor Joe Shaffer said.
Leeson's son is serving in the military in Iraq or Afghanistan, Shaffer said.
Shaffer also stressed that this case was not related to the Oct. 25 stabbing death of Terry Lewis, 61, in the Quiet Dell area.
