ELKINS -- A Bridgeport man was killed in a three vehicle accident, Friday afternoon in Randolph County.
It happened just before 2 p.m., on Route 92, near Crystal Springs, not far from the intersection with U.S. Route 33, state police said.
A 1996 International truck, pulling a trailer carrying three vehicles, was traveling on Route 92.
The truck was driven by Russell Patton, 67 of Perrysburg, Ohio.
A 2009 Chevrolet Tahoe SUV, driven by Mitchell Kerns, 24 of Bridgeport, was heading the opposite direction on Route 92, when his vehicle veered into the other lane and was hit by the International truck, troopers said.
Victoria Reves, 19 of Hendricks and a nine-month-old child were also in the Tahoe, according to a state police press release.
After being hit by the truck, the Tahoe was pushed back into the other lane of traffic, where it hit a 1994 Chevrolet pick-up truck driven by Paul Shumaker, 40 of Buckhannon, state police said.
Kerns was pronounced dead at the scene.
He was not wearing a seatbelt, according to state police.
Reves and the child were taken by ambulance to Davis Memorial Hospital with non-life threatening injuries, troopers said.
Route 92 was shut down for two and a half hours, Friday afternoon.
The state police are still investigating the accident.
The public service commission, the Division of Highways, Elkins and Belington fire departments and the Randolph County EMS also responded to the accident scene.
