BRIDGEPORT -- A construction worker had to be flown to the hospital Friday morning, after falling more than 30 feet at a Harrison County construction site.

The 32-year-old man as working on the Steptoe & Johnson building, at the White Oaks development, in Bridgeport, emergency officials said.

Around 10:15 a.m., the worker fell 30 to 35 feet, according to officials.

The victim was taken by ambulance, just up the road, to the North Central West Virginia Airport, where he was flown by helicopter to Ruby Memorial Hospital in Morgantown.

He was conscious but in serious condition when he was loaded onto the helicopter, EMS officials said.

Bridgeport EMS and Fire Department responded to the scene.

There was no word what caused the man to fall or what company he works for.
