KINGWOOD -- The Preston County Prosecutor's Office is considering filing charges in relation to a fire in Kingwood's Westpoint community Monday.
It happened at 3:10 p.m., according to the Preston County Office of Emergency Management's Web site.
The Preston County Sheriff's Department, West Virginia State Police, and State Fire Marshal's Office are investigating the incident.
The first deputy on the scene was treated for smoke inhalation and released by KAMP ambulance, according to a relase from the prosecutor's office.
One person inside the residence was taken to Ruby Memorial Hospital for treatment of non-life-threatening injuries.
The Kingwood Volunteer Fire Department was able to put the fire out by 4:39 p.m., according to the OEM website.
Charges will likely be filed once the prosecutor's office confers with the state police's lead investigator, the release says.
