Replacement of the bridge is not a high priority for the state because of low traffic.

MORGANTOWN -- Department of Transportation officials said they have set Nov. 18 as the date to start planning for the replacement of the Jerome Park Bridge.

The bridge carries Sabraton Avenue over Hartman Run Road.

The Division of Highways cited the bridge for being in poor condition in 2005, but said it wasn't a top priority because of its low volume of traffic.

Monongalia County owns the bridge, but in 2007 asked the Division of Highways to assume ownership because it might not last until 2012, the year construction is set to begin on a replacement.
