WESTON -- Security was tight at the Trans-Allegheny Lunatic Asylum, Friday, where Ghost Adventures kicked off its first seven-hour live event. The excitement was high both inside, where the Ghost Adventures crew looked for paranormal proof, and outside, where the believers could not wait to see what they found.

Curious on-lookers started gathering at the hospital while preparations were still being finalized. The thrill of the Halloween Eve show began Thursday night for the crew, right after rehearsal.

"The guys got on a live chat ...and we had record numbers of people show up with minimal promotion for the chat," said Travel Channel Executive Producer Charlie Parsons, "But we blew away the records on our live chats, and I think that's a good harbringer for tonight."

Fans of the show of the hospital were easily as excited for Zak, Nick, and Aaron to search for ghosts.

"Every chance I get I try to come down and help out with anything that's going on, try to volunteer," said Dawn Ferrebee, who drove in from Salem. "Plus, I love the Ghost Adventures."

"Listen, honest to God, we watch these guys every week when they're on," said Chuck Rogan from Lumberport. "They're fantastic."

A few brought their own proof the hospital is haunted.

"It looks to be like two male doctors in a window a long time ago," explained Kay Beane, who took the pictures.

Fans got a surprise when the crew came to get advice on where they should look.

"The tunnels," said Beane. "They have places down there where they used to chain the patients."

"I found that I've heard a lot of stories from the from the 4th floor," claimed Ferrebee. "I hear it's pretty active."

Ghost Adventures Live runs until 3 a.m. Saturday morning. If you would like to see what is going on inside the hospital, click on the link below.

While everyone is entitled to their opinion, I find Ghost Adventures to be a very professional show. They try to debunk the goings on like TAPS, but they have a different approach to paranormal investigation than the guys at TAPS do. If you like that show so much, then watch it! By all means, change your channel to TAPS and watch. Don't criticize someone else's way of handling things. They both have their own strategies to "provoking" the ghosts and the energy that Zak puts out sets the mood for the spirits there. I'm not saying because he doesn't want attention because I don't know that myself, but I highly doubt it. And besides if you look on the Crew Spotlight, you would read that it says "Lead Investigator". He wouldn't be the Lead if he was meant to stand in the back of the room and stay quiet. I am a huge fan of the show and think that Zak, Aaron and Nick are doing a wonderful job at what they do. They really bring life into the show instead of stay quiet and "wait" for stuff to happen. Keep up the great job guys, I'll be watching it every Friday!

MARTHA, you sound like a complete idiot! Post after post you whine and complain about them doing a ghost investigation. You say they want to go there to "Torture the spirits" which is very dramatic on your part, just like every other sentence you've posted. Ghost hunters and paranormal researchers DO go to haunted sites for investigations, curiousity, whatever it may be...Obviously the spirits haven't crossed over, so regardless if a ghost hunting team is there or not, those spirits will always be there. And what happened to those people back in the day is very unfortunate. But IT IS THE PAST. You should really move on and accept that. You sound crazier than 100 Zak's screaming at once.

I happen to have like it. To those of you that did not like the show and critical. I'll give you a hint, if you don't like it, turn the channel. It's not that hard. The guys are earning a living. Way to go Ghost Adventures.

I don't know why they had to yell and holler the way they did. It was neat to watch because it was back home. I Tivo'd it so my daughter could watch with me and the only reason I got into this show was it was "back home" I went there when I was in grade school to sing for the patients back in the 60's. It was freaky then. I'd like to go in there at night and just sit and listen and watch..... Don't think I'll become a fan of Ghost Adventures.

I think the state of west virginia needs a major federal investigation over this state run hospital on the torture and deaths of these patients. Do all of you agree strongly? This was allowed to go on for years like this unchecked, I think it may need a look see in a very hard way...

Like most viewers I was disapointed. The yelling was a big part. Instead of waiting for a response someone else would ask a another question but louder. When the couple was asking the questions you can see that they were more in tune to the fact that ghosts cant give a quick response. To be honest they should have continued with the investigation and they might have gotten better results. One area that I was most disapointed is when they tried to contact the little girl "Lilly". Of all areas this should have been the most active. From what I have read and heard that ghost of kids are more active because they dont know or understand they are dead. Plus with all the contact that she has with other visitors during that day makes you beleave that she want to seen. Did the crew ever go back to see if the ball or the music box was moved? Finally, did anyone notice or wonder why is it when Zak entered the hospital he was wearing a black shirt with black pants. But when he was inside he had on a white shirt with black pants? His shirt should have showed up just like his pants did and how about the letter on the back of the shirt that streatched from should to shoulder? Something like that would have been seen on the outside with all the lights.Just because it said live dosen't mean that it wasent pre-recorded but aired live. One thing for sure the host was aired live with all his stuttering a missed pronounced words.

your show friday nite was mean if there is really ghost and i was one of them i would have took you all and pinched your head off. if you people have so much spare time and money on hand you should put it to better use like a fund for finding a CURE FOR Mental problems, not making profits off other people mishaps.how would you like it if these people came to your home and tormeted you or went to the cemetary and played a game with your loved ones .i like fun but not from someelse misery.grow up.

I'm with John...Ask some logical questions. Not silly ones. Is there a heaven or hell? Have u been? Are u visiting or how can we help you. You keep wanting to help these spirits cross over and if u were ever brought up Baptist, I'm sure some are scared to cross. U can't promise them peace... Jenn

Why dont you guys ask some realistic questions..like is there a God ? a Heaven? Instead you ask stuipd things like Which one of us do you like the best ? I mean..who cares really. I want to know if there is life after death not the silly questions you were asking.

I LOVE LOVE LOVE Ghost Adventures!! I just wish you had more than a few episodes per season. I, sort of, agree with a lot of these comments. I understand the adreneline gets going and it would be hard for me not to get excited in such a big place with only a couple of other people with me. However, it would be nice if you guys took it down a notch. The spirits can here you...even if you're not yelling. And it seemed like there was too much comotion going on. But I'll still watch Ghost Adventures because I still LOVE you guys!!! :)

I went there a few weeks ago. Rebecca was saying how she purchased the TALA for 1.5 million dollars, but that was only a fraction of what it would cost to fix it. There were many rooms that were boarded off for safety reasons and asbestos. All of money generated from the tours goes to fixing up this historial building. In the long run, I think that Ghost Adventures being there for 7 hours will REALLY help preserve this wonderful site. Although, I do agree with most of the comments that have been posted thus far; they were a bit loud and obnoxious. In the end, I think that it will be good for the Asylum preservation.

After watching your program last night, with all the shouting and carrying on that you all called entertainment, I have come to think of it as no more than a circus. I think you should leave these poor souls alone. Let them rest in peace. Do you not think that the torment that they endured while alive was enough? Yet you seem to want to chase them, and wish them to do your bidding and call them out, just so you can make an almighty dollar. What that State ran facility did those people was hideous. Don't make a mockery out of their lives or any other facility like it by doing what you did last night. As for Lilly, that poor child. To be born and raised in such a place, what does that say for the State? What does that say about the people that worked in that place? To me, it says very little. Those that lived there were tortured, yet you wanted to go in there and do nothing more than torture their spirits, and not let them rest. Good for you, did it make you happy? Did it make you a little richer? Maybe one day when you least expect it, you will have one follow you home and torment the hell out of you, and cause you agony and you won't find a place to find solace. There will be no rest or peace for you. From what I seen last night, the show was BS.

You all are were way to loud and did not act in a professional manner. You went in there not like someone investigation or looking for spirits, but like wild children with new play toys. Over the shouting you were doing, I was lucky if I could halfway hear anything you thought you heard. This could have been a lot better. TAPS would have been the better group to have sent in there to investigate. Sorry, just my opinion on the matter. Zak, you need to take a chill pill. You ruined the show for me. You were all over the place Way to loud and obnoxious.

Maybe, start talking to the spirit soft and slowly.. maybe invite them in a different room. So you can feel more of their energy. Try to get their attention.
