MORGANTOWN -- Hundreds of yellow balloons will fill the air in Monongalia County on Saturday, Oct. 31.

Mountaineer Wellness Center will partner with My Bank First United Bank and Trust to hold the area's first Helium Balloon Race.

Organizers will launch 100 percent biodegradable balloons near the Sabraton bank.

Each balloon will have a number.

The first person to find and report a balloon will receive a cash prize as will the person whose number is on the balloon.

"This seemed like a really fun way to introduce ourselves also give the community something to keep an eye out for so they watch the balloon launch and hopefully they can keep an eye on us in the upcoming years," Mountaineer Wellness Center Director Wendy Cerne, said.

"As a community oriented bank we believe what Mountaineer Wellness represents for the community, they represent wellness in varies ways whether it be dance, wellness of the mind and we just really want to be a part of that," said Chele Varner, of First United Bank & Trust.

You can buy a $5 tickets at the First United Bank and Trust locations in Star City, Suncrest, and Sabraton.

The split prize money is based on ticket sales and will range from $500 to $2,000.
