West Virginia's Second Chestnut Festival was held in Preston County.

ROWLESBURG -- People in Preston County roasted chestnuts as part of the second annual West Virginia Chestnut Festival this weekend.
The festival was started last year to educate the public about the American Chestnut Tree.
Chestnut foods and products were on display at the Rowlesburg Community Park.
This year the president and CEO of the national American Chestnut Foundation was in Rowlesburg to help celebrate.
A dinner and speakers round out the day.
"We're trying to bring the next generation and younger students into getting them excited about the great American Chestnut Tree," said Joseph Nassif,Chestnut Festival Chairman.
A poster contest was held in local schools.
Organizers are working to have the West Virginia Club become an official chapter of the American Chestnut Foundation.
