Born in Nashville and raised in Petersburg, West Virginia, Julia Burton recalls her memories of riding in the car on the way to school singing along with the Judds, Conway Twitty and Loretta Lynn.

She joined her high school choir and sang every chance she got at church, local fairs, festivals and, eventually, the stage at the Miss America pageant.

The West Virginia University alum signed to Emerald River Records, her first single, "What a Woman Wants," was released to radio in January 2009. Burton's debut album "Woman From the Country" was released in June 2009, which includes her second single "Party Down".

She was in our WBOY-TV studios recently for an update on her touring schedule, what it's like watching her music/video career take off, and to cheer on the Mountaineers.

Watch the video, and check out her website for more information.
