CLARKSBURG -- The Salem-Sun Valley water project is one step closer to completion.
The project is one that has been in the works in some form for nearly 10 years.
The Harrison County Commission was told at their meeting this morning that the project will be out to bid by October 1. The project will cost nearly $8 million, coming from both loans and grants.
The project includes 35 miles of water lines from Clarksburg to Sun Valley. More than 400 new customers will be added in the Sun Valley-Lake Floyd area, one of those customers is the entire town of Salem, which already has more than 900 customers. County officials say construction should begin in early spring and the entire project will take about a year to complete. The county commissioners say the project could mean major development for the area.
