MORGANTOWN -- Morgantown Police have arrested a woman for her involvement in an August 10, 2009 robbery.

Ashley Shillingburg, 25, of Morgantown, is charged with First Degree Robbery for her part in robbing the South University Avenue Plaza Maverick's, according to a release from the department.

Shillingburg was the clerk working at the establishment at 8:30 that Monday morning, according to Detective Supervisor Sergeant Stephen Ford, and was in on the crime.

A magistrate arraigned Shillingburg and set her bond at $50,000, the release says.

Shillingburg knew that Charles Michael, 22, of Morgantown, was going to rob the establishment, Ford says.

Michael and three others were arrested for a string of armed robberies in Monongalia and Marion Counties.

In a press conference earlier this week, police announced that they arrested Michael, Gregory Cale, 22, of Masontown, Paul Shaffer, 19, of Morgantown, and Robert Shaffer, 26, of Morgantown.

All were involved in some way with robbing the Woofs Pet Store in Chelsea Square in Morgantown at about 2:00 p.m. on August 8, 2009, the Dairy Mart on Morgantown Avenue in Fairmont at 4:30 the next morning, and the Tan One on Maple Drive later that afternoon at about 1:15 p.m.

OH MY GOD! Who are you people? Ashley is a human being and "IF" she has been addicted to drugs, then she is also a human being in pain!

I find it astonishing & cowardly that all of these extremely harsh remarks are coming from individuals who won't even use their real names in their post!

It's a good thing we don't have lynchings in America anymore or you 'all would be the mob stringing her up before she even has a trial !!!!!

this is not her first run in with the police, and she is charged with first degree robbery she will be in PRISON for quite awhile, which she deserves.I feel bad for the older woman with a heart condition who was playing that morning who had her purse and money stolen by that little crack whore.

She may have had no one to turn to, except these types of people, when her mother threw her out of her home and forced her to live in her car what was she to do.

I totaly agree with letting Ashley sit in jail for atleast a little while to sober and straighten up! But someone always bails her out! There has been a family member that tried her best to help her! But you cant help somebody that dont want to help their self!! I dont feel a bit sorry for anyone! Everybody knew this was where ashley would end up! Atleast i did!!!

The ONLY people I feel sorry for is her mother and sister who now have to deal with a felon in the family. She has been addicted to cocain and pain pills for over 6 years. She needed help back then and didn't get it... see what became of her??? I hope she serves a long time behind bars maybe this will sober and straighten her up!!!
