WEST UNION -- The Doddridge County Commission is helping the newly formed Ambulance Authority get on its feet.
The authority recently asked the commission for start-up funds.
The commission set aside $25,000 to help the authority.
Authority officials say the money will be used for a number of things, including possibly purchasing an ambulance in the future.
The Authority has offered the Doddridge County EMS a six-month contract. EMS officials say they have not signed the contract yet, but will be meeting with their lawyer on Tuesday, before the next ambulance authority meeting on Thursday evening.
