Police say Jeremy Debarr was shot and killed.

LEWIS COUNTY  -- West Virginia State Police in Lewis County are investigating a murder.

Around 6:00 p.m., Thursday, authorities were alerted to a 35-year-old male victim of a gunshot wound, resulting from an altercation near Brooks Body Shop.

Troopers then arrested Elvis Eugene King Jr. of Weston and charged him with first degree murder and three counts of wanton endangerment.

The victim, Jeremy Debarr, 36, was taken to Stonewall Jackson Memorial Hospital and later transferred to Ruby Memorial Hospital, where he died.

The altercation spilled from a home into the back of a parked pickup truck.

That is when the shooting took place, troopers said.

King Jr. is being held in the Central Regional Jail.

The Lewis County Sheriff's Department and the Weston Police Department assisted the state police at the scene.

i personally knew the victim & I believe what Justice said it true. There is no cause to take another person's life. period!! I feel really bad for both parties' families. However, Jeremy didn't deserve to die in his thirties. Elvis took Jeremy's freedom to live his life & now Elvis should have to pay the price for his actions with his freedom as well. Regardless of his mental state, Elvis made a decision that he should have to live with for the rest of his life,

The King boy has serious mental problem, and that was from the horses mouth. More than likely he was off his med's. On his med's he is an alright fella. Very sad that this has happened.

right or wrong, the whole situation is very sad. How someone could so easily take another persons life is something I will never understand. We can only hope that for the sake of the victims family that justice is served.

Confused is Wrong!

So confused has the story all twisted. The ex should have called the police because the suspect is mentally disabled. Besides that the news story says nothing about children, nothing about what the altercation was about so how do you know who is innocent? The police have not said why they were arguing. Nothing should end in death nobody should try to play god but get your story strait at least.

Why would the ex-girlfriend not have called the police earlier and saved a poor man's life if this conflict had been going on all day. He threatened her and all the children in the house, saying he would burn it down. Hello, do something about it. She is there to protect her family and she let it continue all day long until an innconent life was taken because of this stupidity. She will have to live with this for the rest of her life.
