WEST MIFFLIN, Pa. -- Kennywood Park, near Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, is a popular destination for many people in the area. Kennywood started as a trolley park in 1898.

The Jack Rabbit was the second coaster in the park, built in 1921 and for the last 88 years has kept riders young and old screaming.

Not only is Kennywood a lot of fun, but its really full of history. The carousel that in the middle of the park is one of several attractions in the park, that's the last of it's kind in the entire world.

"Here at Kennywood," says Park Spokesman Jeff Filicko, "you're going to find a lot of one of a kind rides that you're not going to find anywhere else in the U.S. and in some cases even the world."

The Racer coaster, as well as Noah's Ark, are also the last of their kind. Even with all the history, Kennywood has a ton of new, high-tech rides, too.

"We've seen a big growth in new rides in the last 10 years," says Filicko. "Everything from the swing shot in Lost Kennywood to re-doing the Steel Phantom to Phantom's Revenge. Just alst year, we added Ghostwood Estates. It was a $2 million labor of love for us, and it employs some of the most high tech ride technology in the industry."

Kennywood started as an affordable place to take the family on vacation. In today's tough times, Kennywood does it's part to not break the bank for families on a budget.

"One of the great things about Kennywood, is we still try to maintain the position as an affordable family option for your summer vacation. We have discount offers all over out there from local AAAs to Giant Eagles, Pepsi cans, different promotions throughout the year."

You can find more information on all the discounts and promotions Kennywood has to offer, plus order your tickets online at Kennywood's website, below.
