FLEMINGTON -- The Taylor County Sheriff's Department is investigating a string of property destructions at the Flemington Cemetery.
The crimes happened overnight, Sheriff Robert Beltner said.
Dozens and dozens of grave sites have been torn up, concrete has been smashed and flowers have been strewn about the cemetery, Beltner said.
There are no suspects right now but grieving family and community members are banding together to offer reward money for information leading to the arrest and conviction of those involved in the destruction.
The vandals could face a destruction of property or desecration of a grave site charge for each instance of vandalism, Chief Deputy Terring Skinner said.
If you have any information, call the Taylor County Sheriff's Department at (304) 265-3428.
