It happened Wednesday at Huntington Bank
Story by Courtney Dunn
MORGANTOWN -- The Monongalia County Sheriff's Department is investigating an armed robbery.
It happened at about 9:15 Wednesday morning at the Huntington Bank on Don Knotts Boulevard near Greenbag Road.
The sheriff's department says a black man in his 30's, wearing all black clothes, a ski mask, and sunglasses entered the bank with a handgun.
Deputies say he told everyone in the bank to lie on the floor, a teller to fill up a cash bag and took off.
The sheriff's department says he may have driven off in a white Nissan pickup truck and that another person may have been in the truck with him.
"When an incident like this happens there's always a lot of information that comes in quickly," said Chief Deputy Rick Adkins. "Not all of it is exactly accurate so we'll have to find out or see if we can determine if there was actually two people or one."
The sheriff's department has released images from the bank's surveillance video.
The FBI has also been called in to help in the investigation and police have pulled over several cars that matched the description.
So far no arrests have been made but the investigation continues.
If you can help, the number to call is (304) 291-7260.
