WHITE HALL -- A Pruntytown Correctional Center inmate went to the hospital, after being injured while working with the Division of Highways.

A helicopter flew the inmate to Ruby Memorial Hospital in Morgantown, after he apparently fell from the back of a DOH truck.

The inmate was part of a crew that was picking up roadway signs, officials say.

The helicopter landed at the Middletown Mall.

The incident occurred just shortly after 1:30 on Monday in White Hall.
