CLARKSBURG -- Lightning, from a thunderstorm Tuesday afternoon, may be to blame for a house fire in Harrison County.
The fire started just after 1:30 p.m., at a home on Sugar Camp Road.
The Bridgeport Fire Department reports that neighbors saw lightning and went outside to see if anything was hit.
The neighbors saw smoke coming from the cabin and called 911.
The home was fully involved in flames when the Shinnston, Boothsville, Nutter Fort, and Bridgeport Fire Departments arrived.
No one was at home at the time of the fire.
The house has been ruled a total loss.
