The Randolph County Convention and Visitors Bureau says Rally West Virginia brings in about 250 drivers and crew members to the county, as well as a lot of rally fans.

ELKINS -- The Becze family is from New Gally, Pennsylvania. They are staying the weekend in Elkins to watch the rally races.

"We like the cars, we like the racing. This is like real racing, the guys are just on real roads, real cars with real drivers," says Bill Becze.

It is fans like these that are filling up hotels in Elkins this weekend.

"We are full for the weekend. The road rally does bring in a lot of business to all the hotels for the weekend. The restaurants downtown, it's a good thing for the area," says Jill Jeffries, general manager of the Elkins Holiday Inn Express.

"I have 25 rooms of participants. They come into the area, they stay here. They're here for four days. They spend lots of money in the area," says Barb Storey, general manager of the Super 8 Motel.

Employees at the Randolph County Convention and Visitors Bureau agree.

"They're eating here, staying here, buying gas here - buying all kinds of products so we've already seen an increase. We've talked to lodging facilities, people already coming in, they're excited," says Brenda Prill, with the CVB.

Becze says the weekend is not all about the races. He also plans to head to downtown Elkins during his stay.

"We do lunches. We try to do it on the fly so we'll stop and have lunch and then we'll head on out. We do a little shopping and just look around. See what else is here in this beautiful area," says Becze.

Racers say they are excited to spend the weekend in Randolph County, too.

"People all over the country have come here to race on your roads. We're very excited to be here." says Simon Wright, a rally car driver.

Rally West Virginia also includes motor bike racing this year. The event will wrap up Saturday evening.
