| Just before the Philip Barbour girls were getting ready to play Lewis County, the lights in the whole school went off and all you could hear were rumbling noises from on top the roof. Then the administrators evacuated everyone from the gym. We went into the commons area and later moved into the auditorium. Once the storm was over, there was still no power in the school. The decision was to make up the game on a later date and then moved to get Lewis County on the bus for their way home. After that we went outside to look at what damage was done. The shock was that the winds tore the roof off the school & it was laying in the parking lot. Some of it had even made its way into the yard at the back of the school! |
