A northwest wind flow produced some light precipitation late this afternoon and evening. Yes, if it was cold enough, we would be talking about snow showers. Lake effect snow showers are quite common here in West Virginia, especially earlier in the winter, before the lakes freeze over. This activity will end later tonight, signaling an end to the threat of precipitation for several days. Finally, it looks like the weather will be GOOD for the weekend. Tonight, skies clear out and the wind drops off. Lows tonight fall into the lower 30s. High pressure will be right overhead Friday, which means tons of sunshine. Despite the sun, highs will only manage close to 50 degrees. The high then proceeds east, turning our winds south and allowing a warm up to commence. Temperatures over the weekend will reach the 60s. Highs will be close to 70 Monday ahead of a cold front. The front swings in with rain showers Tuesday and Wednesday. Have a great Friday! JP
