Jon Bernard joined the West Virginia Media team in May 2008. As the Director of Internet Operations for all of the “West Virginia Media” Media Outlets, he oversees the operation, creation, and maintenance of the 10 web sites (3 CBS affiliates, 1 NBC affiliate, 2 FOX affiliates, 2 ABC affiliates, a weekly WV Business Newspaper, and a quarterly WV Tourism Magazine) that West Virginia Media currently operates.
Jon has a Bachelor of Arts degree in Communication from Bethany College in Bethany, West Virginia. While at Bethany College, Jon grew to love both traditional broadcast media and new media and worked with campus media to transform them to be competitive in this new digital age. He first came in contact with West Virginia Media through Jim Forbes, the Managing Editor and Anchor for WTRF-TV in Wheeling, West Virginia and Adjunct Professor of Communication at Bethany College.
Jon continues to work with each of the West Virginia Media properties to continue to improve our internet presence by developing new and exciting ways to communicate with viewers. He works out of the West Virginia Media Corporate office in Charleston, but makes frequent visits to each location to work with news, sales and promotion department at each station.
