Karen Kiley Thank you for taking the time to watch 12News and read my biography!

I joined the 12 News team as the Marion and Taylor County reporter. I moved to West Virginia from Maryland in late August 2007 to work with WBOY.

Before moving, I graduated from the University of Maryland, College Park, with a degree in Broadcast Journalism. While at school, I worked as a reporter and anchor for the Capital News Service, putting on a nightly newscast called "Maryland Newsline." The show was broadcast on cable in the Washington, D.C. area. I also worked as an intern for Tribune Media in Washington and WBAL-TV in Baltimore, Maryland.

While waiting to begin my career in television journalism, I worked as a press specialist for the National Farmers Union in Washington D.C. This lobby group gave me great experience in politics, press and rural America.

When I am not working, I am trying to take advantage of this beautiful state. I love exploring the state parks, white water rafting and finding new adventures.

I am always interested in new story ideas, so feel free to email me with any tips
